Practitioner, researcher and educator of design based in Melbourne, Australia. My practice focuses on the design of affordable, accessible and sustainable products, services and systems. I enjoy developing need-led innovation projects.
I am a final year PhD candidate in the School of Design at RMIT University, a sessional lecturer on the Industrial Design Honours Programme in the School of Design and a clinical research affiliate at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute. I also serves as a visiting lecturer at NID Ahmedabad and IIT Delhi and mentor startups in the development of healthcare innovations. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Product Design from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad in India and a Master’s degree in Design Research from the Royal College of Art in London.
Over the past 10 years, I have been working as a consultant with small and medium enterprises in India, higher education institutes including University of Oxford, IIT Delhi, AIIMS Delhi, NID Ahmedabad and humanitarian organizations such as WHO, ICRC and Mobility India on the design of medical devices, assistive technology, healthcare services, systems and health policy.
I have received two International Design Awards and my work has been published as book chapters, articles and posters in international journals and conferences in the field of design for healthcare. I have also presented my work as guest lectures at the University of Cambridge, University College London, Royal College of Art, University of Salford Manchester, OCAD University Toronto and IIT Delhi.
